Cheryl L. Stansberry is a homeschooling mama of four, bibliophile, blogger and writer, and holds dual PhDs in Procrastination and Disorganization with a particular penchant for avoiding housework whenever possible. Why Do I Write?
This quote from J.C. Ryle summarizes it succinctly:
My chief desire in all my writings, is to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ and make Him beautiful and glorious in the eyes of people; and to promote the increase of repentance, faith, and holiness upon earth.” ~ J.C. Ryle
I write primarily to glorify God. Nothing else approaches in importance. Secondly, I write to inspire. If my writing has not touched the hearts and lives of my readers, I have not done my job.
What Am I Currently Working On?
Besides my own, I write once a month for The Old Schoolhouse’s Homeschooling With Heart blog.
I’m working on a novel entitled Midnight at the Fountain of Joy. It’s an inspirational fantasy that I liken to Pilgrim’s Progress meets the Chronicles of Narnia. I’ve spent the better part of the year working on story structure, character arc, and worldbuilding. Last November, I participated in NaNoWriMo. It was my goal to complete half my first draft during that time but I ended up writing out an extensive outline and summarizing the chapters. In 2018 I plan to clean it up and resume working on my novel.
